Yes I savored every word of this piece! These are themes I think about often as I have been on a journey to de-center romance. Because I found that at the root of me reaching towards romance, there are unmet needs that are a reflection of the system we live in. You’re so right that romance and the one gives us an illusion of safety, home, and belonging. If everyone focuses on finding their “one” then we can’t actually build real community.
